Izakaya is a Japanese word wherein ’I’ means to stay and ‘sakaya’ refers to a drink shop and hence it refers to a joint where people can sit and drink. A part of Japanese culture since time immemorial, Izakaya is a dining experience in which the customers sit on mats, low stools or high chairs by the bar and have drinks along with nibbles.
