New World – When Countdown dropped its prices of bread, New World followed suit immediately and introduced its own version of lockdowns known as `Price Limits’. This was intended as a pricing mechanism with an approach that provided special deals on essential household staples for a long time period. The whole idea was to give shoppers a surety on values of these items from one week to another instead of a fixed catalogue round the year (Source).
