Excelent vs excellent
Excellent is an adjective which describes a noun as being remarkably good or as an object which has outstanding qualities. Excelent is incorrect.
This adjective has its origin in Latin language and is a derivative of the word excellare. This is the form which is accepted and it is the only form which is correct. In Latin it is spelled with two Ls’ but the form in which it is used nowadays is spelled with only one l.
Any other form is considered a writing error. There are some forms like excelent, excelente amongst many others but none of them are accepted in written English.
These kinds of spelling mistakes are often used by non native speakers or foreigners who are not as well versed with English as a language.
