Zagreb is the largest and capital city of the Republic of Croatia. It’s located along the Sava river and Medvednica mountain. With Zagreb Country, City of Zagreb has more than 1 million inhabitants. Almost all government ministries of Croatia are located in Zagreb, including central government and administrative bodies. It’s also most important hub in Croatia, because it’s place where Western and Southeast Europe meet.
On the other side we have Split, largest city of the region Dalmatia, and second largest in Croatia. It’s located on eastern shore of Adriatic Sea, and is intraregional transport hub, because it’s connected to numerous Adriatic Islands. Split is also one of oldest cities in that area, although it is considered about 1700 years old, archeological research are proving that it was originally founded as a Greek colony in 4th century BCE.
