Compare Suitcase vs Backpack:
Much of the fuss pertaining to cultivating an image of being a cool traveler boils down whether you are carrying a backpack or a suitcase. However, the fact is rather than trying to look cool, your choice of venturing out with a backpack or suitcase should be governed by factors like ease of traveling and nature of the trip.
Because a backpack is to be carried on your back, it is ideal for adventure trips and hiking trails wherein your hands need to be free at all times. These are available in all shapes and sizes which in turn implies that all you need to do is search thoroughly till you find one which seems to be perfect for you in every way. Designed like a sack, a backpack is akin to a pit wherein you can stuff all kinds of stuff ranging from clothes to your daily necessities without giving much thought to organization.
Backpacks have their disadvantages too, the foremost being the strain that your back is likely to withstand courtesy of having to carry the burden on a continuous basis. Secondly, these might be durable but often are not tough enough to provide protection of fragile items like your tab or your laptop.
Lugging around a suitcase is a sign of maturity but it also adds a flavor of organization to your travel. Courtesy of being fitted with wheels, it can be rolled along endlessly and hence is not tiring on any part of your body. Although suitcases can prove to be burden in case you encounter staircases or unpaved paths, they provide sufficient protection to your belongings by cushioning the bumps and jerks that are an inevitable part of travel.
Price does not play a role in this comparison because the variety available in both categories is wide enough to cater for all types of budget.
The choice is really hard, and depends on more than one factor.
If your plan is to hike, go to more than a few places on a journey, and stay in more places – then the right choice is a backpack. This way you can use many means of transport and easily walk or run when necessary. Backpack also ensures you will not be carrying more than what you really need, as is the case with suitcases.
But, if you are going to visit one city, for a weekend, for example, and are going by plane – this is the time to carry a suitcase. This way your luggage won’t be tossed or chewed on inside the plane as a backpack could be, and you can easily pull the luggage through the transport means. It’s actually kind of a fancy travelling equipment, as far as I’m concerned, but it’s quite handy!
