Which is your preferred airline?
KLM is the national airline of the Netherlands. It is headquartered in Amstelveen, and its hub is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. KLM is the oldest airline in world, which still operates under it’s original name. It operates passenger and cargo services to more than 130 destinations worldwide. KLM merged with Air France in 2004 but both continued to fly under their brand names. They are both members of the SkyTeam alliance.
On the other side we have Italian national airline Alitalia. Its head office is in Rome, and its main hub is Leonardo da Vinci-Flumicino, which is also located in Rome. Alitalia is Italy’s biggest airline, but in 2013 it was facing bankruptcy so Etihad Airways took 49% in the Italian airline. That deal became effective in 2015.

KLM is the better airline company no doubt. The flights are not too old. The support staff is amazing. In flight services are also awesome.
Alitalia gave a good experience but the fact that their support staff is not that good was a little disappointing.

Alitalia : Many delays in many airports, seat pitch very tight, food not so good, many cases of delayed or lost luggage, poor response to complaints
KLM : comfortable seats, food standard is good, very few delays, suitcases arrive on time, friendly staff
I think Alitalia should upgrade its quality of service. Since it has joined KLM and Air France, it should strive to be at the same level of service, paying particular attention to their inflight as well as the luggage.
