Hong Kong is often described as a place where East meets West. It is recognised as global centre of trade. It’s movie industry was recognised in the world when martial arts genre gained high level of popularity in 60s. Most of the oldest remaining historic buildings like Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower and the Central Police Station were constructed during the 19th and 20th centuries.
We are comparing it versus Shanghai, cultural and economic center of East Asia for the first half of the 20th century. It is considered as birthplace of everything modern in China. Shanghai has few museums of national importance. Most famous are the Shanghai Museum, the Shanghai Art Museum and The Shanghai Natural History museum. In more recent time Shanghai has started its own fashion week called Shanghai Fashion Week.
