Darwin is northest capital city of Australia, and largest in rarley inhabitated Northen Territory. Because of it’s northern location, it’s important connection to countries such as East Timor and Indonesia. In city’s greater area you can find tribal home of Larrakia people. In 1839 Wickham named the region Port Darwin, than it became the town of Palmerston in 1869, and in 1911 it was renamed into Darwin.
On the other side is Victoria’s capital and highest populated city, Melbourne. By EIU it’s ranked in top three most liveable cities in the world since 2002, and since 2011 it’s ranked as number 1. Melbourne is recognised as UNESCO city of Literature, and it’s also big centre of street art. A lot large and old cultural institutions like Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne Museum and National Gallery of Victoria are located in Melbourne.
