Auckland is largest and higest populated area in New Zealand. With it’s population of around 1.4 million, Auckland has about 31% of country’s population. It’s urban area goes to Wawiera in the north, while Kumeu is in the northwest and Ruciman in the South. Mercer Quality of Living Survey ranked Auckland 3rd place in the world.
On the other side we have Dunedin, second largest city in the South Island of New Zealand. Whilst it’s populations makes it seventh largest city in New Zealand, Dunedin is still one of four main New Zealand cities, for its historic, geographic and cultural reasons. Until 1900 Dunedin was highest populated city in New Zealand.
